2018/8から、カオサンでの屋台営業が禁止になった。
遂にバンコクのカオサン通りでも屋台禁止、2018/8から屋台は別場所へ移動
ただし屋台側からの抵抗もあり、調整が入っている。
少なくとも「屋台ゼロ」には、ならなそう。
現時点の状況は以下。
夕方6時～深夜はカオサンでの屋台を許可。
(そのうち夕方4時～になる可能性あり)
ただし月曜は終日屋台禁止。
(これは以前からそうだった)
部分的に屋台が許可された形だが、条件はいろいろある。
- 「車道」部分での許可のみ、「歩道」での屋台は不可
- 全ての屋台はタイ商務省への届け出が必要
- 屋台のサイズは1.5㎡まで
- 1業者につき、屋台は1軒まで

The BMA had already arranged with the Metropolitan Police Bureau for the daily closure of Khao San Road to vehicles from 6pm until midnight, to allow hawkers to trade on the road surface, he said.
BMAはカオサンについて、夕方6時から深夜までの「道路上での」屋台営業を許可することになった。(ただし「歩道」での屋台はNG）

For Khao San Road, the BMA came up with an alternative plan by letting vendors trade on the street instead.
Khao San Road will become a walking street from 6pm until midnight except Mondays.
BMAはカオサンについて、歩道でなく車道での屋台を許可する代替案を用意した。
夕方6時から深夜までカオサンは歩行者専用道路になるため、車道で屋台を営業できる。
(ただし月曜は全面的に屋台禁止）The vendors argued that setting up stalls on the road may put them and tourists at risk if it rains.
The road would be flooded and electrical wiring around the stalls could be hazardous
しかし屋台側は、雨が降った場合に「（屋根のない）車道では危ない」と反対している。
屋台からは電気ケーブル等が多数のびており、それらがショートする可能性があるため。

Scores of vendors initially ignored the order, and also staged a protest march, saying they had not been consulted or given sufficient notice.
屋台側は「屋台禁止」の命令を無視し、抵抗している。The new regulations will be strictly enforced, deputy governor Sakoltee Phattiyakul told reporters.
しかし政府関係筋によると、「屋台禁止」は厳格に導入されるということだ。Police kept a close watch from one end of the street on Monday, and said they would shut down any vendor who defied the order.
カオサンの入口では警察が目を光らせており、命令に従わない屋台は締め出す考え。

Khaosan street stalls to operate from 4pm to midnight
Bangkok deputy governor Sakoltee Phattiyakul said after a meeting with related agencies on Friday that to help solve the problem, the BMA will draft a regulation allowing Khaosan vendors to trade from 4pm until midnight.
カオサンについて調整が続いており、屋台営業は夕方4時から深夜になる見込み。
(現在は夕方6時から許可)Every vendor has to register with the Commerce Ministry.
全ての屋台は、タイ商務省への登録制となる。vendors will only be allowed a space of 1.5 square metres and all stalls need to be of the same size.
We will ensure that everybody gets an equal share of the footpath, and only one stall will be allowed per vendor, Sakoltee explained.
屋台は1軒につき「1.5㎡」まで許可される。どの屋台も同じサイズであること。
また屋台は1人につき1軒まで（1人で複数の屋台をもっている場合もあるがそれは禁止）。
